Receptive Language Delays/Disorders
30 minute sessions- $40
60 minute sessions -$80
Difficulty understanding spoken language. This is seen when a child has difficulty following directions and answering questions. Therapy focuses on increasing understanding of wh- questions, basic concepts, and completing directions.
Accent Modification/Coaching
60 minute sessions -$50

"Accent modification is an elective service sought by individuals who want to change or modify their speech. "
"The goal of accent modification is not to eliminate the existence of nonmainstream dialects and accents, nor is it to disconnect the individual from their community and identity associated with a particular language variation."
Dynamic Assessments & Screenings
At this time, Speech Essentials conducts assessments using the Developmental Assessment of Young Children-Second Edition (DAYC-2) for children ages 0-5 years of age.
For older children, services will be determined based on a dynamic assessment and on your concerns about your child’s speech and language abilities. Dynamic assessments include observations, informal assessment, screenings, and/or speech/language sample. These will occur at the beginning of service, once we determine if your child may benefit from services. The process will provide baseline information and help develop goals for your child to work on during therapy.
If your child has an evaluation from another SLP or from their school within the last year, I am happy to accept that for services to begin immediately. If your child has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) , I can base therapy off of the active IEP.
I offer one, free 15 minute consult to discuss your concerns. After our discussion, I will offer a free screening to determine if your child will benefit from services. I will review the results with you and provide recommendations. If further assessment is needed, this will occur during our first session
